Now that you’ve got your Meatless Monday recipes on hand, here are two more Earth-friendly tips:

Tuesday, April 19: #TransportationTuesday

Carpool with a friend, walk, bike or use public transit for the day. Not only can you gain steps to track on your Fitbit or use the carpool lane on the freeway to speed past those silly solo drivers, but you might also engage in some friendly face-to-face conversation with those around you.

Check out this initiative created by the residents of Whispering Palms of Kandivali in India to encourage carpooling. Titled “Lift Kara De,” inspired by the popular song by Adna Sami, the initiative now has 130 members utilizing the offering through the app WhatsApp to get to work in a cheaper, more efficient and environmentally friendly way. The video below features real residents of the movement.

Wednesday, April 20: #WaterWednesday

Can you take the #4LChallenge and live off 4 liters or 1 gallon of water a day? Hint: A shower might not make the cut! According to Home-Water-Works.org, in an average home, showers are typically the third largest water user after toilets and clothes washers. The average American shower uses 17.2 gallons and lasts for 8.2 minutes at an average flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute. At the very least, attempt the #onesongshower method?

Now that you have made your meals, transportation and water usage Earth Day friendly, make sure to come back Wednesday for our final two tips.
