At Abacus, we understand the devastating impact of the 2025 LA Wildfires. Whether you’re facing sudden expenses, insurance hurdles, or uncertainty about the future, our goal is to offer clarity, support, and expert guidance. We believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality financial advice—especially during difficult times.

These pro bono sessions are intended to provide education and guidance on financial topics impacting those who have experienced significant loss or hardship due to the LA Wildfires such as loss of home or property, loss or significant damage to business, or loss or significant impact to income. 

During a 60-minute session, our advisors will work with you to answer your questions, and help you make informed decisions so you can focus on what truly matters: rebuilding and moving forward. We can cover topics such as:

  • Immediate and long-term steps to consider
  • How a significant loss may impact your financial picture
  • Understanding insurance claims
  • Applying for loans and financial relief
  • Recovery resources and agencies to contact

Important Deadlines 

Deadline to apply for FEMA assistance:
March 10, 2025

Deadline to apply for SBA Disaster Loans:
March 10, 2025

Deadline to apply for Hazardous Waste Clean-up and submit the Right of Entry form:
March 31, 2025

Los Angeles County taxpayers now have until October 15, 2025, to file tax returns and pay taxes that would have been due between January 7 and October 15, 2025.
