My Story

After 24 hours of flying, I finally saw my mom in the Taiwan airport. We embraced, and I started crying and felt more emotional than I ever remember. Three years of pandemic separation dissolved in that moment, replaced by a realization: I’d been measuring success all wrong.

At 16, I moved to the US from Taiwan to finish school and get started in my career. I wanted to be a chef and would do anything to succeed. By 19, I was a sous chef of a hotel, supervising people twice my age. By 25, I had a resumé so strong I could work just about anywhere in culinary. Every achievement demanded sacrifice – long hours that took away personal time, postponed vacations or family visits, promises of “next year” that stretched into years.

When COVID hit, those promises became impossibilities. For three years, an ocean and a pandemic stood between my parents and me. During those long months, I started regretting all the moments where I decided to postpone a visit to see them for one more opportunity to advance my career.

Standing in that airport, finally reunited with my mom, something shifted. I realized that while building my career was important, I’d lost sight of what mattered most.

Now I see my parents multiple times a year, sometimes even meeting between Taiwan and the US to explore new places together. I go trail running with friends to start my days. I venture into the western states I’d always promised myself I’d visit “someday.” I remind myself that the future-me doesn’t want to regret what I didn’t do today.

I still work with passion and dedication, but I’ve discovered what “enough” truly means. It’s not just about the next milestone. It’s about having time for the people and experiences that bring joy and meaning.

This perspective shapes how I work with clients. What matters most to you? How can we align your financial life with those priorities? Because I’ve learned that true wealth isn’t just what’s in your portfolio – it’s having the freedom to live a fulfilling life.

How I’m expanding what’s possible with money

I enjoy sharing knowledge and financial education with clients, friends, family, or anyone who is interested. I actively seek opportunities to expand my own understanding by learning from others. Whether someone’s financial goals are large or small, I value the chance to help others work towards achieving success.

Outside of work, my passions include

I love cooking, baking, and especially trying out new recipes. I take every opportunity to go running or hiking in the wilderness. You can also often find me clicking around all over Google Maps daydreaming about my next adventure and adding to my lengthy travel bucket list.
