Over 5,000 doctors are using SharePractice at the point of care to find treatments for many types of diagnoses. Physicians and medical practitioners rank and comment on thousands of drugs, herbs and supplements in SharePractice so the information is current, complete and peer-sourced.

SharePractice was founded by Dr. Andrew Brandeis and is operated by physicians and engineers on a mission to provide the best treatments for every medical disorder in the most efficient way.

SharePractice is a collaborative clinical reference for doctors. After a doctor makes a diagnosis, a treatment is then recommended. Usually, doctors will consult research, a reference book or a medical resource to find the best course. However, SharePractice does not believe these sources to be adequate because their funding comes from pharmaceutical corporations and insurance companies or from universities where findings are slow to publish.

SharePractice pulls together information from multiple medical databases and contains thousands of diagnoses. Doctors can drill into a specific diagnosis to see the various ways other doctors have treated it. Every treatment is ranked by up-voting or down-voting from the community, and doctors who regularly contribute popular treatments have greater weight within the group. Specialists commenting on their area of expertise also rise to the top. The system will ultimately have filters for qualifiers and “co-morbidities,” which means that recommendations can take age, gender, chronic disease and other factors into account. Some 3,500 crowdsourced treatments have been posted, covering 80% of the most common patient diagnoses. In the coming weeks, SharePractice will add every FDA-approved treatment for these diagnoses.

Better Ventures Fund II is a portfolio company of Abacus Impact Fund 2013, LP.
