New Members Appointed to the Investment Committee

We are pleased to announce our two newest members of the Investment Committee (“IC”), Gabe Brenner and John Eing.

Gabe Brenner ran his own wealth management firm before merging with Abacus. It was in this role that he became experienced in designing portfolios. Having done things “his own way”, he brings a fresh, outside perspective to the Committee.

John Eing earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and particularly loved his courses in finance and behavioral economics. Prior to joining Abacus, John was the controller of Wells Fargo’s asset based lending and factoring group.  His concerns over the impact that rising interest rates or a slowing economy could have on our portfolios will be a valuable perspective for our clients.

Both Gabe and John spent most of 2016 as non-voting members of the IC, giving them a chance to interact with the voting members and complete their training to become voting members themselves. Like the other members of the IC, John and Gabe are advisors to many of the firm’s clients, which keeps them grounded in what matters most at Abacus: the goals and financial opportunities and challenges of our clients.

Along with Brent Kessel, David DeWolf and Darius Gagne, the IC now has five members. The five of us work very well as a team and will oversee Abacus’ portfolio strategies with the highest of care.
