The reason I got into this profession
As a very young single mother raising two girls, I didn’t know what to do, so I did anything and everything I could to survive. I had no career path. I just needed to make rent. I tried the medical field, animal control officer, cashiering, bookkeeping and everything in between. For some reason, I always came back to finance.
I never thought as myself as a career woman, just someone who had a job. Then a friend of mine told me someone in her building was looking for an assistant. Perfect, I’ll try something new! Little did I know that it was in a financial planning firm. My life was turned around! I was taught how to make good financial choices and still be able to save for the future. I could teach my family and friends as well. This felt amazing! I could really help people change their lives! Almost 14 years later I still enjoy helping people by taking time-consuming and confusing financial tasks over for them.
